Once we learned what we were going to do I found that we were going to do more then just drawing. Yes, we drew but we learned about the all the different pencils to make it look more three dimensional and make it look more then a flat drawing. We used color colored pencils which made it easier to draw. Then the picture, your drawing, looks more then a flat drawing. It makes you want to draw more. My favorite part was the clay because I liked making an art piece that was whatever I wanted. My other favorite part of this year was putting the book together. It was hard but it was cool when the book was all done and the colors came together and the stitching looked cool. I learned how to bind a book which was cool but hard to do. I like learning new ways to improve my art and I look forward learning more in the future.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02281063355594888753noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625475309608567005.post-27883689594200645632014-06-10T15:08:00.001-07:002014-06-10T15:08:31.394-07:00time capsuleMy time capsule reflects me because of the things I put in it. I put my favorite songs and singers in my box because I know I probably will not have the same favorite song when I open the box. Two of my favorite songs I put in my box is the song Rude and Summertime Sadness. I also put a pages from my favorite stores which are Garage and American Eagle because in the future they may not still be called that or may not exist. I put a ticket form a concert I went to it was the first time I went to a meet and greet the name of the group was Emblem 3. I also included my favorite plant in my time capsule it is called a bleeding heart plant.
The summer is my favorite time of year to spend with friends and family to go to the beach, to sleep in, to swim, off to the board walk. Over the summer is the time for me to do what I want and do my own thing and have a lot of fun. Late summer nights with friends is the best because we go late night swimming, walk and get ice cream, and hangout till we have to go home. My friends and I go shopping a lot over the summer and my family and I go on vacations to Illinois, Florida and all the different shores. My favorite is going to the beach to feel the sand on my feet, to find sea shells and to feel the cold water on my feet. I love summer time, a time to let loose, a time to have fun.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02281063355594888753noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8625475309608567005.post-72923320880207450342014-01-14T14:34:00.001-08:002014-01-14T14:34:32.943-08:00Fortune Cookie Inspired Book PageThe fortune cookie project was sort of difficult to start. I was not sure what to do with my piece of art. When I started with the colors I thought about colors that remind me of fortune cookies and where they come from and where they were made. On the back of the fortune cookie there is writing and on the back of one of my fortune cookies the writing meant "to teach" and I put that writing on my art piece. I got my ideas from what I was given by putting smiley faces on my work. I put them there because on every fortune cookie there is two smiley faces. I also used the writing as a big piece of art.
When I started with the first piece of paper I liked my work and did not want to give it away. When contributing to an art piece that was already started and not mine to finish was kind of difficult. It was difficult to know what to do with it and I didn't want to put a lot on the art piece so that the other person who gets the piece does not have anything to do to the piece of art. I like my final piece because I could finish anyway I wanted and still stay with the theme that the other two people started for me. I learned that more then one person working on a piece of art can turn a
I picked my item because I liked the way it looked and it stood out to me the most. Carving the stamp was difficult at times but easy at other times. I especially liked printing because printing in all the different colors and putting the stamp in different orders and layers made the art colorful and a lot more interesting to look at.
All the items are a collection of things that mean something to each of us or something we may have had for years. The collection does say somthing about our interests. For example someone who brought a pen or a pencil it could mean they are interested in writing and someone that brought nail polish could mean they are interested in painting nails. The beliefs of this collection could be creativity or what the personal meaning may be to someones items . Portia Munson's collections of colors probably had more of a meaning behind it then just a bunch of colored items.
Hoarding is when people keep or have things just to have or just to keep for instance hoarders might keep everything or any object no matter of its value or regard of the consequence.
My bike drawing was done in graphite pencil. It was easy to do because I could show where parts of the bike had light shining on it. I could also show the shadow parts of the bike easier. The hardest part was trying to make the bike look like metal instead of just a plain bike. The candy jar drawing was fun with all the different colors and having a colored piece of paper instead of a plain white sheet of paper. On the candy jar since the paper was already colored it was harder to show where the light shined on the jar. Making the jar look like glass and making the candy look like it was in the jar was harder.

Drawing with colored pencils was difficult at times like. Especially when you had to make the jar look like glass and the candy look like it is in the jar and not floating. The process of the candy jar was easier at times then others because drawing the jar and the lid were sort of difficult because I needed to make the jar look real size and the lid look like a lid on the jar not just the top of the jar.
Then after the practice drawing I started all over and I drew a bike that filled the page and it looked more like the bike that was infront of me, then the bike I saw in my head! The bike was fun to draw other then trying to draw parts of the bike in proportion. Shadeing the bike was difficult at times because you had to find where the light shined on the bike and had to make the bike look more three dimentional then just a flat drawing!
